Linda J. Book
Whitehall Borough Council Member
Linda is a 6th term councilwoman serving on the Whitehall Borough Council. Ms. Book was Council President in 2004, 2011 and 2018.
Linda is a 1974 graduate of Baldwin High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1974-1976, receiving the Army Commendation Medal.
Linda attended Point Park College majoring in Journalism – Communications with a minor in Political Science.
Ms. Book also received her Private Pilot License from Pittsburgh Flight Training Center.
As a veteran, Linda takes great pride in coordinating the Borough’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony she initiated in 2004, and in 2005 Linda initiated Whitehall Borough’s Annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
In 2002, Linda initiated the highly successful LEARN Bus Program with the assistance of the Friends of the Whitehall Library which benefits all residents of the Borough with numerous educational awards and grant monies following.
Linda serves as a tutor for the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. Linda is a proud member of the Whitehall Community Lions Club.
Linda is employed with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania working with Representative Andrew Kuzma.
Linda currently serves on the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees for the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (PSAB)
Linda also serves as Immediate Past President of the Pennsylvania Borough of Councils Association and is on the Board of Directors of Allegheny County Boroughs Association (ACBA).

Philip J. Lahr
Whitehall Borough Council Member
Philip Lahr, a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, has worked in the graphic arts field for more than forty-five years. Phil was employed by American Institutes for Research and Applied Science, both psychological research companies. He was co-owner of Super Print, advertising and printing company.
Phil is a four-term council member and past president. Over the years, he has been able to acquire grant money for many Borough projects. He was a member of the Planning Commission for seven years. He is a Whitehall Fire Fighter of forty-two years, ten of which he was President. Phil enjoys painting the beauty of nature. His paintings may be seen in the Borough Building, Library and at Eat-n-Park in Whitehall.
Phil is married to Barbara (Baker) a graduate of Baldwin High School. She taught music in Baldwin, and was the director of the B.C.U.M.C. Nursery School for thirty years. They have two children and three grandchildren.

Robert J. McKown, CPA
Whitehall Borough Council Member
A graduate of Robert Morris University, Bob is a certified public accountant and is currently employed as a manager/firm administrator at Goff Backa Alfera & Company, LLC. Bob is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of CPAs and is active in their Legislative and Student Relationship Committees.
Bob is a Past President of Whitehall Borough Council. He has been trustee and treasurer of Whitehall Borough Public Library. Bob serves as a director of the Medical Rescue Team South (an emergency medical service provider), is its past chairman and treasurer and has chaired its Legal and Finance Committee. Bob is a director and past treasurer of the Friends of Whitehall Library, and past director on the South Hills YMCA Board of Management.
In addition, Bob is a Master Mason and a member of the Greater South Hills Lodge No. 684. He is also past president of the Brentwood Baldwin Whitehall Chamber of Commerce and treasurer of the Brentwood Business Owners Association. As an active community person, he has been involved with Baldwin High School’s Music Patron Organization and the Baldwin-Whitehall PTA.
On a personal note….
Bob is a lifelong resident of the borough and resides at 4800 Mooreridge Drive. He is married to his wife Joanne and has two daughters, Michelle and Katie.

Glenn P. Nagy
Whitehall Borough Council Member
Glenn is a life-long resident of Whitehall. He is a graduate of Baldwin High School, Washington and Jefferson College, and the University of Pittsburgh. He has served on all borough committees and has been president of Council four times.
Glenn believes that Council’s main goal is to continue to provide our residents with the services and amenities they are accustomed to, including the best police department, a public works department that never gives in to Mother Nature, a library second to none, and great recreational facilities like the Whitehall Pool, tennis courts, and our beautiful parks, all at an affordable cost.
We accomplish this in large part to our great Borough staff and the many residents who volunteer their time to serve on our boards.

Glenn is married to his wife of over thirty years, Pam, who many of you know as Mrs. Nagy from the Baldwin Community Church Pre-school. He has two sons, Jay and Grant. He has been serving the residents of Whitehall since 1996 and looks forward to serving you well into the future.

William J. Veith
Whitehall Borough Council Member
Bill retired from the Baldwin Whitehall School District after teaching American History, serving as athletic coordinator and coaching a variety of sports at Baldwin High School.
Bill is also a graduate of Baldwin High School. He attended Slippery Rock University for undergraduate studies and also holds a masters degree in education from Duquesne University. During his teaching years, Bill served on various committees in the school district, including the Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board, the Hall of Fame Committee, and the Budget Advisory Committee. He served in the United States Marine Corp for six years.

Bill has lived in Whitehall Borough for the past twenty years with his wife, Joanne.

Stone Sobieralski
Whitehall Borough Council Member
Stone Sobieralski is newly elected and will be serving his first term on Whitehall borough council in January of 2022.
He is also a lifelong Whitehall resident who graduated from Baldwin High School in 2015.
He continued his education at the community college of Allegheny County. Receiving an associates degree in business, finance, and accounting.
As a lifelong resident who’s family has been in the community for many years he is highly motivated to keep Whitehall a great place to live and raise a family.
