The contractor for Columbia Gas confirmed the upper section of Provost Road will not reopen May 3 as planned. They continue to run into issues with existing underground infrastructure that has dramatically slowed their progress.
Beginning May 4, crews will be working 7am – 9pm. The Weyman – Provost intersection will be reduced to one lane between 7am-3pm and 6pm-9pm. Flaggers will be on scene to assist with the alternating traffic pattern.
Crews will open the Weyman – Provost intersection to 2 lane travel between 3pm – 6pm to ease congestion during the afternoon rush hour.
It is anticipated the upper section of Provost Road will now remain closed until the end of next week.
REMEMBER – This is not a Borough project. Questions and concerns should be directed to Columbia Gas and PennDot.
